Choosing and preparing a healthy balanced diet for the whole family isn't easy. But it's important! UF/IFAS Extension, Hillsborough County can help. We provide classes and materials to help consumers choose and prepare diets that manage or prevent diabetes, hypertension, cholesterol, and weight problems. We also offer information that can help make sense of food labels and allow families enjoy healthy eating on a busy schedule. Some publications and classes are available in Spanish. We can give classes in Spanish, but do need sufficient advance time for preparing materials.
Our goal is to help consumers stay in good condition and provide a healthy lifestyle for themselves and their families.
Hillsborough County residents may request educational programs for their organizations, places of work or churches on a variety of topics. We also offer professional training for Child Care Providers on nutrition and menu planning in a child care setting, and offer the ServSafe professional certification class and exam for food service managers.
